Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre and SEET Dance are inviting everyone to once again join us - and millions of people across the globe- in a worldwide movement to end violence against women and girls!
Friday February 12, 5-7pm, Crown st, Surry Hills
NSW MP Jenny Leong will launch the event!
The campaign, launched on Valentine's Day 2013 by Eve Ensler, the creator of the world famous play Vagina Monologues, began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. With the world population at 7 billion, this adds up to more than ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS.
Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre and the cutting edge contemporary dance school SEET Dance have been bringing this event to Sydney since 2013. Charemaine Seet, the choreographer of SEET Dance, and her beautiful dancers headline the event by creating, perfroming and then teaching a powerful dance to all who attend. This year Surry Hills will be rising to Janelle Monae's visionary song "Electric lady".
