Surry Hills Markets…

Surry Hills is one of Sydney's most artistically-vibrant inner city neighbourhoods and smack bang right in the heart of this bustling & colourful community can be found the iconic & acclaimed Surry Hills Market.

Held on the first Saturday of every month in Shannon Reserve (corner of Crown and Foveaux Sts) Surry Hills Market makes for a great Saturday stroll.
Why not take a friend and challenge yourselves to see who can find the best bargain!

Surry Hills Market is one of the best in the city. It specialises in second-hand and vintage goods, including clothing, furniture, accessories and art. Handmade and designer jewellery, candles, books and music recordings are also on offer. Pick up an old dress pattern or bit of vintage denim, preloved designer labels, a new hoodie, or that vintage pinhole camera – quick!

There’s a wonderful community vibe at this monthly market, with bargains aplenty; if only it were more frequent! The market is always busy and very vibrant! All the stall holders have an artistic edge to them, and add the air of creativity and artistic self-expression to the market.

The crowd consists of locals and visitors from far & wide… interstate and even international for whom the market is a much-loved monthly event. Inner city dwellers looking for good deals on stylish garments, lovers of unique handmade jewellery and home accessories, and connoisseurs of vintage art, music and literature flock to this hub.

And the market is very family friendly!

Directly across from the market is the Surry Hills Neighbourhood Centre located on the first floor of the Surry Hills Library building. On market day the centre also runs a Community Market Café, where people enjoy a refreshing tea or lunch after the shopping. The café serves an array of tasty delights including the most delicious and without a doubt best value (at a mere $6 a serve) Devonshire Teas.

And after the market why not go for more of a wander on Crown Street, stopping at small galleries and boutiques to explore this art, design and fashion hub & the wonderful alfresco dining, busy gastro pubs and funky bars.
