I don’t know about you, but to me, half a million dollars is a lot of money. For most of my clients, half a million dollars is also a lot of money. That is one of the reasons why property purchases can be stressful and why choosing a good mortgage broker and conveyancer is really important. Not only is the money important, but lots of people come emotionally attached to a place. As soon as we decide to purchase a property, we start to put our hopes and dreams into it. I know as soon as we decided to buy our home, I started to work out where the kids would sleep, how I was going to improve it and who would come to our first dinner party.


 


To take away the stress and to help realise your dreams, it is important for purchasers to find professionals whom they trust. The good valuers, brokers, lawyers, and real estate agents out there are not always the cheapest. The good brokers to whom clients return whenever they buy a place are those who look after their clients, conduct themselves professionally and give their clients confidence that the property will be purchased on time with the minimum of stress.


 


In addition to the standard questions about time keeping and professional appearance, when you meet a potential mortgage broker, these are some of the questions that you may want to ask


  • How long have you been broking?
  • What do your clients say about you?
  • Do you understand the property purchase process?
  • Do you own property? With which banks do you arrange most of your loans?
  • Do you have Professional Indemnity Insurance?
